信息成为现代经济和社会发展的重要资源。面对我国国民信息能力低下的现实和学习化社会的到来,笔者提出,当前必须加强大学生信息能力的培养和教育,使他们能自主学习,这是实现受教育者终身学习的重要保证,是他们迈进知识经济时代和信息时代的通行证。

Information has become an important resource of social and economic developments. Facing the reality of our people's low information ability and facing the rapidly increased and renewed information in the modern society, constant learning has become people's need all their lives. Therefore, the most important thing for colleges and universities to do is to extend college students' information ability. 
