在中学语文古诗文教学诠释词句时，教师除了应就诗文本身作内部求证（训诂）外，有时还应翻检资料，作些外部求证，亦即考据的工作。这样才能避免可能的错误，寻得确切可靠的解释。

When explaining words and expressions in ancient poetry and prose taught in middle schools,the teacher should not only do the internal explanations,but should refer to adequate materials and do external studies,i.e. textual re- search work. This can help avoid mistakes and obtain exact and reliable answers.
