On the Subject Awareness in Ba Jin's Family Novels

巴金是中国现代文学史上家庭小说创作成就最高的作家 ,他的《激流三部曲》、《憩园》、《寒夜》等中长篇小说通过对“五四“到抗战时期不同家庭生活的描写 ,从政治、经济、文化、伦理道德等不同视角 ,多侧面地揭露封建家族制度、封建礼教和封建迷信的吃人罪恶 ,展示两代人之间的矛盾冲突 ,探索爱情婚姻、家庭及妇女解放等重大社会和人生问题 。

Ba Jin is the greatest writer in creating family novels in modern Chinese literature history .His medium length or long novels ,such as Torrent Trilogy,Resting Garden,Cold Night and so on,describe the different family lives from May Fourth Movement(1919) to War of Resistence against Japan (1937-1945).They deeply expose the cannibalistic nature of feudalistic clan system,ethics and superstition from political,economic,cultural and ethical aspects.His novels demonstrate the contradiction between two generations and explore the vital social problems as love,marriage,family and women's liberation,which show his strong democratic consciousness against imperialism and feudalism.
