摘要在英语世界里,<古代中国的思想世界>[Schwartz 1985;史华慈2004]是一部西方人研究先秦思想史的名著,以其视野宏阔、思想深刻、以及对基本典籍认真细致而又独具匠心的解读,吸引了对中国思想文化感兴趣的读者,其影响并不局限于先秦思想的爱好者.这篇小文准备对这部书的作者略予介绍,并从多重学术研究脉络冲突的背景来对这部著作略作解读,以期为中国思想文化的爱好者提供一些理解这部名著的外围知识.
