SPEEDING UP THE CONSTRUCTION OF RAILWAY MAJOR PASSAGES IN WEST CHINA

本文着重分析了铁路运输通道在西部大开发中的重要意义，结合西部铁路目前存在的问题，进一步研究实施西部大开发战略后，铁路在西部地区的运输市场、运输特点及未来发展趋势，提出加快西部铁路运输大通道建设的战略设想及保证措施。

The paper is emphasized at analysis of the importance of railway major passages in the developing West China. Based on the issues existed in western railways,it makes the study on transport characteristics and transport market of railways in western region,as well as the development in the future after implementing the strategic plan of the developing West China. The paper points out the major ideas of speeding up the construc- tion of western railway passages and its countermeasures.
