Simulation is one of the important technologies for the development and evaluation of advanced infrared imaging sensor systems.Hardware-in-the-loop simulations have been proven to facilitate the design,test,and evaluation of infrared imaging systems.A challenging aspect of infrared imaging simulation is the infrared target in the celestial background modeling and infrared computer scene generation.A simplified technique is discussed to establish the 3D model of infrared target using Multigen Creator and generate infrared computer scene with IR target and celestial background using Vega as a high performance software environment and toolkit for the real-time simulation.
