Laser weapon is a new conceptive weapon.It is more rapidly,more directional,more density of energy and more inexpensive than the traditional weapon,so it becomes the cosset in the future weapons domain.The high-energy laser weapon will play more and more important role in the application of military,it represents the developing direction of future weapons.It will change the present status of battle field and the mode of operations completely,and it will also change the formation of future war deeply.The high-energy GDL has high output of energy.It was used in the development of high-energy weapon by many countries.In this article,the applications of the GDL in the developed countries',such as America,France,Germany,Russia are presented ,and the actuality and development of GDL weapons are summarized.
