Controversy among different schools of thought in the beginning of Qin Dynasty and the historic background of burning and burying confucian scholars alive were elaborated.It was pointed out that the extreme thought and autocratic policy of Qin Dynasty not only terminated the cultural prosperous situation of contention and flourishing of numberous schools of thought since the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period,but also accelerated the collapse of Qin Dynasty itself.
