This paper discusses in detail the three configuring ways of connecting the Internet through DDN: one is to access the Internet through routers; one is to access the Internet through proxy servers; and the third one is to access the Internet through the combination of direct and indirect accesses. Moreover, it analyses their respective advantages and disadvantages and comes up with the best scheme, that is, to combine two out of the three ways.
