从《围城》中方鸿渐弃苏小姐而追求鲍小姐、苏文纨弃赵辛楣而追求方鸿渐、方鸿渐和唐晓芙分手、方鸿渐不愿与刘小姐相恋、孙柔嘉痛恨赵辛楣及孙柔嘉和方鸿渐分手等6大悬疑的剖析中,可以看出女性在《围城》中并未如倪文尖先生认为的那样完全“失语”,而是“众声喧哗”,和男性一起建构了《围城》的性叙事。
An analysis of the six cliffhangers--Fan Hongjian abandons Ms. Su for Ms. Bao; Ms. Su abandons Zhao Xingmei for Fan Hongjian; Fan leaves Tan Xiaohu; Fan Hongjian rejects Ms. Liu; Sun Roujia resents Zhao Xinmei;and Sun Roujia leaves Fan Hongjian--shows that females in The Beseiged City do not suffer complete “aphasia ” as suggested by Ni Wnjian but rather clamor out “fury of many voices” to be part of sex narration with the male characters.
