民间组织的科学分类是民间组织科学管理的前提。民间组织的分类需要结合中国社会发展环境特点进行,不但要注重以民间组织的构成方式和活动内容为核心标准,划分和确定民间组织,而且要把握民间组织的阶段性特点,分别从"实然"和"应然"角度进行分类。当前阶段可以把民间组织分为会员制组织、基金会、实体性组织三大类,发展成熟阶段则可以把社会组织分为社会中介和民办实体机构、公益性事业组织、非政府公共机构、会员制组织、基金会等五大类。
