Having analyzed the reasons why so many large-scale projects are developed inside the urban fringes and discussed its functions and impacts, this paper expounds such strategies and methods as follows to promote the fringe districts and urban sustainable development: orientating accurately the fringe, adopting suitable development models, exerting large-scale effects, strengthening ecological function and perfecting construction process.
