Roaming Experience_a Path Bound for Goal of Life

走出两汉经学牢笼的魏晋士人,一时间失去了人生追求的目标,游观中日趋强烈的失落感,激发出深情的回归歌咏。他们首先在哲学的层面上,通过玄学论辩,设计构建新的人生归宿,同时又在各种“游”的活动中,寻归全新而又陌生的家园。因此,“游”的自由与洒脱、风度与风流的另一面,是失落家园的凄怆与感伤。

The scholars of the Wei and Tsin Dynasties, who were freed from manacles of thestudies of the classics in the previous Western and Eastern Han Dynasties, for a time lost their pursuit of the life goals. This sense of loss, strengthened in their roaming experiences, inspired the scholars to chant verses with profound emotions. First of all, they philosophically designed and structured a new settling place for the souls through metaphysical debates. At the same time, they attempted to retrieve the home of their souls that was brand new yet strange to them. The roaming experiences, which were seemingly free, easy and unstrained, were filled with sadness and sentiment due to the loss of home for the souls.
