论LCC的编制原则及类目安排特点

On the Principles of the LCC System and Its Characteristics of the Arrangement of Contents and Subjects

LCC是美国国会图书分类法的英文简称,是美国国会图书馆根据该馆藏书编制的综合性等级列举式图书分类法。它为美国国会图书馆的文献资源提供一个分类目录系统并组织藏书排架,整个体系安排及具体类目设置上都不甚严密。

The LCC, short for the Library of Congress Classification, is the library classification system which is adopted by the U.S. Congress Library to arrange the stocked books by subject with the call number. It makes it possible that the extensive sources of literature are organized and stacked according to the classification of the subject area with a loose arrangement of the whole system as well as the specific subject areas. The present paper is aimed at the discussion of the principles of the LCC system and its characteristics of the arrangement of contents and subjects so as to enable the users to conveniently classify the intended books by this method in their practice.
