The Jinuo nationality was approved and announced by the State council to be the last unitary ethnic group after the national identification in 1979. The overwhelming majority of Jinuo people live in compact communities on Ml. Jinuo, some 20 km from Jinghong City of Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province. The festival celebration, folk custom, architecture, costume and accessories and musical instruments of Jinuo people are all under a veil of secrecy.
