摘要
随着美国经济的繁荣,人们开始把金钱作为衡量一个人成功与否的标准,汽车成了一个人身份和地位的象征。但在繁华掩盖下的是人们的精神空虚、道德堕落和两性关系混乱,《了不起的盖茨比》真实地反映了20世纪20年代美国的这一现实。
In the Great Gatsby F Scott Fitzgerald described the American society in the 1920s. With the economic prosperity, the American began to judge a person by his wealth. A car became the symbol of status. Although America was wealthy, the people had no ambition. They were morally degenerate and sexually disordered.
