现代设计区别于传统的设计风格,主要显示在装饰形态的转换。就器物装饰而言,“无装饰的装饰”代表了现代主义装饰的特征。它诞生于现代主义产品设计风格中,并在后现代主义中得到发展。它是对传统装饰方法的承传和扬弃,在设计观念方面契合了我国先秦的造物设计观念,是现代新型审美观念的外化。“无装饰的装饰”的历史意义在于创造出功能结构与审美同化的装饰风格,实现了对材料的主观追求,并在人文关怀、科技发展中,呈现出多样化的发展方向。

Different from the traditional design style,modern design shows its features in the transformation of decoration form.As far as decoration of utensils is concerned,'decoration without decoration' shows the features of modernist decoration,which was born in the design style of modernist products and found its development in the post-modernism.It develops what is useful and healthy in traditional decoration and discards what is not.The historic significance of 'decoration without decoration' lies in the creation of assimilation of function structure and appreciation of the beautiful in the style of decoration,and realizes its subjective seeking for materials and shows varieties of development in humanist care and science and technology.
