This article begins with the status,function and task of college physics course, the teaching content of college physics, the basic requirement of college physics for ability ,quality cultivation , the teaching process of college physics course etc. ,and inquired deeply into the construction of college physics course of non-physics specialty catering to 21st century. It points out that, college physics course is an important obligatory basic course for the students of every specialty of science and engineering subjects in institutions of higher learning , and college physics course can't be substituted by other courses on the aspect of cultivating the science quality of students. And it emphasizes the importance and necessity of strengthening the teaching content of modern physics.
