On April 7, 2005, the Party secretaries and mayorsfrom Shenyang, Anshan, Fushun, Benxi, Yingkou,Liaoyang and Tieling grasped each other’s hands, raisingtogether. That means the Shenyang Economic Areaformed by the big seven cities in the central part ofLiaoning Province. Within the radius of 150 kilometers,centered by Shenyang City, there are six big cities, thatis, Anshan, Fushun, Benxi, Yingkou, Liaoyang, andTieling. The Seven Cities, with economic gross volumeabout 64%, have a population over a half of the totalpopulation of the province.
