In order to build Liaoning into a harmonious society, both the Party committee and the government of Liaoning province give a special concern to the transformation of the slum area. They proclaimed the Number-One Morale Project at the beginning this year. According to the report from Liaoning Provincial Construction Department, the investment to the housing construction, during the Tenth Five-Year-Plan period, has got to 201780 million Yuan, the finished residence to 120 million square meters, respectively increasing 29.8% and 33.2% as compared with those in the Ninth Five-Year-Plan period. To the end of 2005, dwellers in the slum area and remove that year have got to more than 100000 households. The constructed area per capita has now reached 21.49 square meters, adding about 3.1 square meters as compared with that of the end of 2000. Both the Party committee and the government of Liaoning province have fulfilled the promise to the people.
