《牡丹亭》是明代剧作家汤显祖的代表作品,全剧的情节安排突出了一个奇字,在一些描摹风景的 词曲上着力雕琢,使情与景有机地融合,在说白上则一扫前期剧坛骈俪之弊,增加了生动形象的口语。但有些 地方显出过分雕饰的痕迹,而且全剧的主要线索与战争的背景结合不够紧密。

《Peony Pavilion》is the representative work oi dramatist Tang xianzu in Ming Dynasty, in which the plot arrangement is appropriately blended into scene through the elaborate description of the scenery ; the lines are rich in pel phrase while the flowery monologue is thoroughly rejected. But there, are, some plots which are too elaborated, the key clue didn? t conned closely with background of the war.
