It is obvious that system science has a significance to methodology of education research.The paper attempts to expound the track of generation and d evelopment of system science in historical perspective and review its pr ocess from origin of ancient system to formation of modern system and emergence of contempora ry system,meanwhile,analyzes the c lose relation be-tween system science methodology an d education research.The paper also proposes the value of system science methodology,moreover,it contributes to the reco gnition of education and helps to exp lain better education phenomina,as well as provide entire mode of thinking.At last,it points o ut the negative effect on education r esearch of shortcomings of system me thodology.
