A Preliminary Study of the Transportation in the Southern Part of Anhui in the Period of the Sui and Tang Dynasties

皖南地区是隋唐时期重要的财赋供应地。皖南地区虽偏隅江淮腹地 ,但是这里北临长江 ,东近贯穿南北的大运河 ,有水陆路线与全国交通网连成一片。交通运输的发展 ,大大加强了其与中原地区的联系。

The southern part of Anhui was an important financial center in the Sui and Tang dynasties.Though this area is in the inner part of Jianghuai,with the Yangtze in the north and the Great Cannel in the east,it enjoys convenience of weater route transportation all over the country.With the development of transportation,it tie with the central area was greatly strengthened.
