阆中人的张飞情结

Zhang Fei in the Eyes of Langzhong People

多年以前,我便知道<三国演义>里那位气吞山河、力敌万夫的悍将张飞,正是阆中普通百姓心目中的标志性人物.记得第一次去阆中参加一个诗人之间的聚会,主人从酒席间拉起一位朋友向我介绍说:"这是我们阆中最著名的猛张飞诗人."此人姓袁名勇,性情耿直热烈,诗风肆意挥洒,全无半点拘束.后来我才知道,在一个人姓名之前冠以"张飞"之名,对一个阆中人来说是极高的荣誉.

Zhang Fei, a famous general of the Shu Kingdom in the Three Kingdoms Period (AD 220-280) ruled Langzhong for 7 years. As he adopted a policy of encouraging farming and weaving, building water conservancy projects and promoting economic prosperity, Zhang Fei enjoyed the immense love and esteem of local people. So, the Zhang Huanhou Memorial Temple dedicated to Zhang Fei attracted a large number of pilgrims. To date, many stories about him are circulating among the people. Even a locally processed black beef is named after Zhang Fei.
