摘要 三江均发源于青藏高原的亘古冰川,金沙江在云南石鼓镇附近转身向北切开玉龙雪山和哈巴雪山的阻隔,形成威震天下的“虎跳峡”,继而滚滚向东润育着华夏文明。 The Jinsha, Lancang and Nujiang rivers originate on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and flow torrentially through the deep valleys in the lofty Hengduan Mountains. The 3 rivers begin to flow abreast in northwestern Yunnan Province and continue this way for 170 km, forming a rare natural wonder. The Jinsha River does a U-turn at Shigu Town and flows northward and then cuts through the Yulong and the Haba snow mountains. The 2 mountains flanking the Jinsha River form a world-known Tiger Leaping Gorge. Then it surges eastward into Sichuan Province, known as the Yangtze. The Lancang River and the Nujiang River continue to flow southward and are known as the Mekong River and the Salween River respectively after they flow out of the Chinese border to Southeast Asia. Thanks to the rare ecological wonders, diversified flora and fauna resources and fascinating natural scenery, the 3 Rivers Flowing Side by Side area were included by UNESCO on the list of the World Natural Heritage in 2003.
