In this paper, the author introduces some issues taken into account in establishing HV DC fault control policies for the 2004 Safety-stabilization Control System of China South Power Grid (CSG), such as recovery measures of HV DC combinational fault, frequency characteristic of CSG, tripping sequence of generators in Guizhou network, impact of load shedding location in Guangdong network, adaptability of stream turbine fast-cut-valve to CSG, adaptability of available failure-synchronization separate-device and the fast separate-device etc.
