谈英语“否定词”的误用

Some Thoughts on Misuse of English Negatives

本文针对大学生在英语学习中听、说、阅读、翻译方面常犯的“否定词”错误,比较系统地归纳并分析了三种“否定词”的误用情况。形式否定的误用—形式否定指“表面上看是否定,而是实际上却是肯定的意思”;双重否定的误用—双重否定指“句子同时有两个否定词,或一个否定词和一个具有否定意义的词、短语,它们相互抵消否定意义,变成了强势的肯定;完全否定与部分否定的误用,否定转移的误用—否定转移指“否定词所否定的并不是紧随其后的部分,而是后面的某个部分”。

Considering the college students' commonly committd errors of 'Negatives' in the English study, especially in listening, speaking, reading and translation, the author gives a systematic summary and analysis of three typical 'Negative' usages. Namely, formal negation misuse-formal negation means 'seeming negatives turn out to be affirmative'; dual negation misuse-dual negation means two negative words or phrases offset each other ,stressing affirmation; misuse between total negation and partial negation , misuse of negative transfer-negative transfer means negatives modifying some sentence element farther than the one close after negatives.
