刘伶是魏晋名士中颓废派的代表,社会对他的抛弃是他走向颓废的根源,他以酒来体验人生,以酒来保全自己的性命。阮籍是魏晋名士中消极派的代表,面对现实无可奈何,沉湎于酒聊以自慰,走的是失意士人们所走的自我拯救的道路。

Liu Ling was a representative of the decadent school in Wei dynasty and Jin dynasty. He expe- rienced life and protected himself by alcohol because he was abandoned by the society. While Ruan Ji was a representative of the passive school, he was indulged in alcohol for self-comfort as the other disappointed scholars were, because facing reality he had no way out.
