郁达夫的经历是伴随着孤单、寂寞、和颓唐情绪的一种艰苦挣扎,所以他创作时紧紧抓住这些情绪,加上他有生以来固有的忧郁和悲观,及在生活中因不满和困顿无限膨胀的忧郁和悲观,在小说中尽情宣泄"忧郁"、"悲苦"、"色情"、"感伤"、"自杀"、"孤独"等情绪,让小说中的主人公在浓郁的悲剧氛围中苦苦挣扎,这形成了他的小说独具氛围的悲剧风格。

Yu Dafu's experience is a bitter struggle accompanied by loneliness and dispirit. And also because of his melancholy and tragedy that is inherent or generated by unsatisfaction and straits, he fully demonstrates such feelings as melancholy, bitterness, sex, sentiment, suicide, loneliness and the characters in his novels are made to struggle bitterly in strong tragic atmosphere, which forms his unique tragic style.
