With the rapid development of network applications,intrusion detection technology has become an important part of keeping network security.The Snort that is a network-based intrusion detection tool was first analyzed deeply in the aspect of system structure and collectivity flow,and then the method of constructing a IDS based on snort in Linux system was presented.
