Taking California as a background,Jack London produced the pastoral trilogy, including Burning Daylight,The Valley of the Moon and The Little Lady of the Big House. In these works with profound implications,London took many elements concerning America into serious consideration, but Chinese scholars haven t paid adequate attention to them. The paper is aimed at probing into the three novels, analyzing their reception in China and drawing some implications from the phenomenon.
