In Chinese classical literature,boat is always used to symbolize the scholars′ vagrant life and official career,so the image of boat has turned to a tool of conveyance of an aesthetic literary espression of emotion.From different analysis of the images of the boat in light of wandering son,madman and pessimist,the paper probes into the complicated life ideals and emotions the scholars in Tang Dynasty revealed in their official careers by the unique connotations of the boat.
