Comparison between English Metaphor and Chinese Metaphor in the Perspective of Culture

隐喻是语言的重要组成部分,与文化联系密切,许多深层文化内容在很大程度上通过隐喻来表达,而不同语言文化在隐喻运用上又往往有较大差别。在分析了隐喻的基本概念和特征后,阐述了隐喻与文化的关系,最后比较了英汉不同文化下的隐喻的内涵。

Metaphor is a key part of language and is closely related to culture.It is often used to express deep cultural connotations,whereas the use of it varies from culture to culture.The author first introduces the concept and features of metaphor,and then illustrates the inter-relationship between metaphor and culture.Eventually the author probes into the connotation of Chinese metaphor and English metaphor and compares them.
