Rolling manipulation, one of the characteristic manipulations of traditional Chinese massage, is the main therapeutic manipulation of the rolling-Tuina massage school. It plays an important roll in basic technical teaching of Chinese massage and the clinical treatment. The original meaning of 'Rolling' in an ancient Chinese book called Shuowenjiezi (<说文解字>) is 'turning'. This manipulation, founded by Mr. DING Ji-feng, gives the patient a sensation of a ball rolling on the surface of the body. Besides, this manipulation should be performed by hands, so it is named 'Rolling'.
