摘要 SHEN Guo-quan, head of the Tuina department of Yueyang Hospital of Integrated Chinese and Western Medicine Affiliated to Shanghai University of TCM, senior consultant doctor, supervisor of postgraduate for master degree, vice chairman and secretary-general of Tuina Branch of China Academy of TCM, and executive chairman of National Tuina Medicine Center. He is mainly engaged in clinic and experimental research on vertebral diseases.Translator: Xiao Yuan-chun 'Mo' literally means 'rubbing between two things'and 'eliminating'. Circular-rubbing is one of the earliest manipulations used in clinical practice. Circular-rubbing differs from pressing actually. Pressing is a static manipulation and acts to inhibit motion; circular-rubbing is a movable manipulation and serves to eliminate stationary. Circular-rubbing can be performed by either the palm or the finger.
