The Market System--the Fundamental Way to Exploit Higher Education Resources

目前我国高等教育的发展虽然取得了长足的进步,但仍旧在计划经济的机制下运行。就其长远发展而言,计划经济的低效率必将成为阻碍高等教育发展的根本性的制约因素。为使高等教育在收费标准、招生数量、专业设置以及提高教学质量等方面能更大程度地满足和适应社会的需求,必须引入市场机制对高等教育资源进行配置,以使高等教育的发展纳入良性循环的轨道。

In spite of much progress made in recent years, Chinese higher education is running under the old mechanism of planned economy system, which will surely hinder its further development in the long run. To satisfy the social need for higher education, this paper, therefore argues for an overall introduction of market mechanism in tuition standards, enrollment quantity, the setting up of specialities and measures to improve teaching quality so as to exploit higher education resources and guide the development of higher education within a sound track.
