Through the study of the present development situation of the athletic contest in medium-sized and small cities,the author holds that the athletic contest in medium-sized and small cities has ini-tially formed perfect competitive results of the contest and have enhanced remarkably.The reform of the athletic contest has got initial results.The author puts forward the guiding ideology,target of the athletic contest in medium-sized and small cities and the solution to the problems existing in the contest.
