A Comparison of Theories on Yijing's Levels between Chinese and Foreign Languages

层深是文论、美学的新范畴。它是讲意境的层层深入,指的是艺术形象与引发的艺术想象的空间中,表现出多层次的境界。中西古、近代文论看待层深,对层深的状况和怎样达到层深均有共通性,这是人类的历史必然性和思维趋向性决定的;但在研究的立足点、目的性、侧重点、倾向性等诸方面有差异,这是民族性格、艺术传统、思维方式、文化底蕴的不同所造成的。

Levels of Yijing are a new category in the literary theories and the aesthetics, which means the ideal states of the artistic imagination sparked off by the images have several levels. There are some shared ideas on the following aspects: the concept of levels, the status and how to reach these levels, in the ancient and modem literary theories in both Chinese and foreign languages because they are determined by the inevitability of the human history and the tendency of thinking. But the stand points, the purposes, the focuses, the orientations etc. are varied because they are aroused by the varieties of national peculiarities, artistic traditions, and the ways of thinking and cultural details.
