摘要
Cygwin可在Windows环境下提供对Unix/Linux环境的模拟与支持,具有较为完善的Unix/Linux工具包和编程环境。利用Cygwin对常用的生物信息学数据分析软件如Sim4、FASTA、Phred/Phrap/RepeatMasker、EMBOSS、HMMER和ClustalW等进行重新编译,发现通过该方式能够获得可在Windows环境下运行的可执行代码,为利用Windows环境优势的同时进行跨平台生物信息学数据分析平台的开发提供重要参考价值。
Cygwin is a Unix/Limn - like environment for Windows and consists of two parts: (1}. a DLL(cygwinl. dll)which acts as a Linux emulation layer providing substantial Linux API functionality and(2). A collection of tools, which provides Linux look and feel. We tried to use the Cygwin environment tore- compile some general bioinformatic programs including Sim4,FASTA,Phred/Phrap/Repeat Masker, EMBOSS,HMMER and ClustalW in the Windows 9X/ME/NT/XP/2003 platform. Results demonstrated that the binary executable code could be easily made after successfully compiling in the Cygwin environment.Therefore,the Cygwin environment under Windows operating system could be one of best choices for transplanting hioinfonnatic programs from Unix/Linux to Windows.
