从英汉称谓语的不同看其背后的文化差异

Cultural Differences Caused by Differences in English and Chinese Titles

英汉称谓语差别很大。汉语中各种称谓名目繁多,亲属称谓语严格区分内外和上下,社会称谓语严格区分尊卑,这主要是由于中国几千年的礼教传统、宗法制度根深蒂固。西方直到文艺复兴后才有比较完善的礼俗制度,而且资产阶级革命比中国早,尤其是西方人更追求个性与平等,所以其称谓语也比较简单。本文试图从英汉称谓语的不同对其背后的文化差异作一番粗浅的比较与探讨。

There are great differences in the English and Chinese social and relative titles. Based on the con-trastive studies concerning these titles, this paper analyzes the reasons for these differences, from the perspectives of feudal ethics and rites, patriarch systems, and value systems.
