去年冬天,回家度假的钟秋接到通知去参加府南河形象大使评选的面试.几个月前,她曾经在美国填写了一份书面材料报名参加这次评选活动.到了现场,才知道所谓面试其实就是决赛.到场的每一位选手都非常优秀.钟秋给自己打气说:重在参与!既来之,则安之吧.在即兴演讲中,她的一口标准流畅的英语十分引人注目:假如我是府南河形象大使,我将利用我在世界各地生活和工作的每一个机会,宣传府南河、赞美府南河;我要呼吁人们像爱护自己的眼睛一样来爱护府南河,因为爱护它就是爱护我们的家园、爱护我们生存的环境,就是爱护我们的未来……."
Zhong Qiu was born in Chengdu in 1977. She left Chengdu for USA to study in the Indiana University at the age of 18. She acquired double academic degrees in computer and accounting in the university. She is now employed by the Anderson Consultancy Co. USA. In Dec. 2001, she was chosen to be the first image ambassadress of the Funan River of Chengdu. She said that as the image ambassadress, I would not only let more people learn more about the Funan River, but also I myself could gain deeper understanding of Chengdu to further enhance my affection for my hometown-Chengdu.
