邱笑秋,亦名丘壑,1935年10月生于四川成都,自幼研习中国书画,先花鸟后人物,主攻山水。其画作《山海千秋》、《岷江千里雪》、《湖光山色》、《高原碧海》、《春满神州》等分别陈列于天安门城楼、人民大会堂、中南海紫光阁、北戴河中央机关会议场所等处;《披霞的晚风》等被中央美术馆收藏;《今月曾经照古人》及作者传略列入《中国当代国画家辞典》和《中国文艺家传集》;已出版《邱笑秋画集》、《邱笑秋大熊猫画集》、“青藏高原”邱笑秋彩墨画选第一集》。是国家一级美术师、中国美术家协会会员、中国戏剧家协会会员、中国诗书画研究院院士、四川中国彩墨画研究院院长。
Qiu Xiaoqiu, President of the Academy of Chinese Colored-lnk Painting in Sichuan, went for the first time to Wolong on West Sichuan Plateau, and he has become deeply attracted to the rare animal since then. Every day, Qiu will go into the forests in deep mountains to observe the activities of the pandas and to understand their habits and behaviors. In order to help protect the ecology, Qiu has, in the past 20 years, soaked his paintings with strong emotions for the pandas to capture the attention of China and foreign countries. Sir Peter Scott, Chairman of World Wild Life foundation referred to Qiu's paintings as containing the 'the greatest, noblest and most beautiful sentiments of human beings' .
