Yuerzhai Lake is located in the Aba Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province, 260 km from Chengdu City. It lies in the valley named Songpinggou between the Upper Haizi Lake and the Lower Haizi Lake on the Diexi River running through Songpan County. Yuerzhai is actually a barrier lake formed after a strong earthquake. Here, the water is bright green like an emerald reflecting the images of trees and mountain peaks. The lake boasts high development value for tourism purpose.
