Since 1992, China has put in practice a strategy for the overall coordination of national efforts in the four aspects of population, resources, the environment and development, and achieved substantial progress both in economic and social progress.China's strategy to nurture sustainable development is focused on the capacity building of sustainability and its main efforts are in the following six realms: governmental regulation, living security, human resources, eco-environmental conservation, social development and S&T innovation. The strategy has been successful.
