Research Approach to the New Subject of Political Economy——Notes on An Interview with Economist and Professor Gu Hailiang

随着我国经济改革开放的不断发展和深化,在其实践进程中出现了很多新事物、新情况、新问题,亟需得出科学的理论解释。这就要求经济学理论要与时俱进,要求经济学者们要研究新课题,提出新理论。然而,科学的理论创新又必须要以科学的研究方法为先导,这对经济理论创新者来说是至关重要的。研究社会主义现阶段的政治经济学新课题,第一,一定要有经济史和经济思想史的背景与基础;第二,要注意到一个重要的方法论问题,即社会主义理论和社会主义实践的反差;第三,要把社会主义理论的一般性和社会主义初级阶段理论的特殊性结合起来;第四,要把社会主义制度研究与体制及机制研究结合起来,由抽象到具体,再由具体到抽象,相互印证;第五,要充分吸收马克思政治经济学和西方各种经济学流派的分析方法,取长补短将他们有机地结合起来;第六,一定要充分考虑经济全球一体化、知识经济、中国加入WTO等背景。

With the constant development and deepening of reform and opening-up in economy in our country, there arise many new affairs, new situations and new problems, which require scientific and theoretical explanation. Thus, economics theory should keep pace with the times and economic scholars should put forward new theories by studying the new subject. However, scientific research approach is the guide for scientific and theoretical innovation, as is essential for innovators of economic theory. In order to study new political economic subject of socialism at present stage, we must acquire the knowledge of the background and foundation of economic history and economic ideological history. Second, we should pay attention to the importance of methodology, namely the contrast between the theory and practice of socialism. Third, we should combine the generality of socialist theory and the particularity of the theory of socialism at primary stage. Fourth, We ought to study socialist system, integrated with its structure and mechanism, from abstract to concrete and then from concrete to abstract for confirmation. Fifth, the analytical methods of Marx's political economics and various western economics schools should be combined organically and fully absorbed. Sixth, such present situations as economic integration throughout the world, knowledge economy and china joining WTO should be taken into full account.
