During the course of globalization, the orientation of value and development of Chinese literature requires our objective consideration about traditional and international cultures and their advanced points as well as backward ones. This thesis makes a comparison between the two great playwrights, Shakespeare and Cao Yu, from the humanity point of view in their works, Hamlet and Wild Field, and interprets his concerns for life and reflections on fate by perfectly integrating internal and external tragedies together.
