摘要
奥尼尔和曹禺是 2 0世纪上半叶各领美国和中国剧坛风骚的戏剧大师。他们在许多剧作中共同表现出一种原始崇拜的思想意识 ,这种思想意识的产生皆源于对现实社会中的极度不满和无能为力的痛苦 ,为寻求精神出路 ,他们便托古讽今 ,以原始时期人类生活的自由快乐、健康幸福来指斥现实社会的不自由和不健康 ,为的是达到批评现实的目的。
As the leading playwrights in America and China respectively in the first half of 20th century, O'neill and CAO Yu both expressed the same ideology of primitive worship in many of their plays. This ideology originated from their extreme discontent with the real society and their helpless sufferings. By means of using the free, happy and healthy past to disprove the dissatisfied present, they found an outlet for their emotions and a way to criticize the reality.
