摘要
天台遗则为牛头禅六祖慧忠门人。慧忠寂后,他移居天台佛窟岩习禅,前后40年,自有所悟,时人称“佛窟学”。佛窟学的特色可概括为:继石窟佛教遗风,杂有牛头禅色彩的道学化禅宗。
The Buddhist monk Yize was a disciple of Huizhong, the Sixth Ancestor of the'Ox- headZen'. After Huizhong passed away, Yize moved to Tiantai Mountain to practice Zen, or religious medita-tion. After 40 years of practice, he became so awakened that he formed the so- called Grotto BuddhistPhilosophy. The Grotto Buddhist Philosophy can be characterized as a kind of Zen resembling Taoism,having both the traces of Grotto Buddhism and the features of the 'Ox- head Zen' sect.
