On the Common Features of the Imagination Space in Poetry and Painting

艺术,首先是一种“物”的呈现。“物”是建构想象空间的物质承担者。诗画由于其不同的“物性”因素,因而构成的想象方式是不同的。但是,它们都包含了由“物”直接激发的、超然于“物”外的外围的想象的多层次的想象空间。真正的魅力也正在于这种有别于生活的想象空间的拓展。

Art is first of all the presentation of an object. The object is the bearer of the material in the eon-struetion of the imagination space. Because of the different natures of the objects in poetry and painting, the ways ofimagination in construction are different. But they both include the multiple spaces of imagination direefiy evoked byand independent of the object. What really fascinates us is in the expansion of the space of imagination different fromthat in real life.
