Reading comprehension plays an important role in teaching advanced vocational English. First, we should analyze the concept of reading, the mental process and its barrier; secondly, we should have the reading skills and methods in hand——controlling the action of pronunciation, guessing the meaning of words according to the structure and key words, as well as cultivating the habit of concentrating on it.
